Marc represents the fifth generation for U.J. Robichaud. Marc has worked for U.J. Robichaud since he was 14, working in all aspects of the business. This includes the yard, the delivery fleet, the mill, the store counter, and in the office. Marc is a graduate of Acadia University. Upon graduation, he was awarded the Bishop Medal for the highest GPA in the Faculty of Professional Studies as well as the Business School Medal for the highest GPA in the Acadia School of Business. For a short time after Acadia, Marc was also the owner of the Front Street Café in Wolfville, Nova Scotia. The business was purchased in August 1997, but was lost to fire in January 1998. There was little time to think of the loss as Marc opened the Rental Center division of U.J. Robichaud in March 1998. Marc has also applied technology to U.J. Robichaud, and in 1996, brought in the first computer systems. Since then, Marc has worked on improving the technology and infrastructure. In 2010, Marc also undertook to purchase the former assets of RA Belliveau Building Supplies and to open a 2nd location for UJ Robichaud TIMBR Mart. This new Church Point location opened to the public in June 2011. Marc was very active in community organizations, and was a strong supporter of Acadian Culture and local events. Marc served on the board of directors of the Atlantic Building Supply Dealers Association from 2002-2005. Marc served as the president of the Chambre de commerce de Clare from 2005-2010 and Vice President of the Conseil de Development de la Nouvelle-Écosse 2008-2009. He was also a board member for the local Caisse Populaire de Clare. Marc passed away January 10, 2012 after a brief but courageous fight with lymphoma. Want even more?
