ANNOUNCING THE 35 FINALISTS OF THE 2007 LAURIERS DE LA PME Ottawa, October 5, 2007 – RDÉE Canada announced today the names of the 35 companies that are still in contention for the Lauriers de la PME awards that will be presented on November 10 at a gala marking the fourth edition of this competition. The 35 finalists, all Francophone businesses based in linguistic minority communities across Canada, are competing for awards in four categories: Processing companie, Service companie, Micro-companie and New companie. New companies The selection committee of eight representatives of the Franco-Canadian business community and representatives from federal government economic development departments and agencies evaluated the candidates’ files and met to determine the award winners. To select the winners among the finalists, the committee based its evaluation on their respective economic performance (70% of the points awarded) and their involvement in the community (30% of the points). The winners of the 2007 Lauriers de la PME awards will be officially announced on November 10 during a gala capping the competition at the Fairmont Château Laurier hotel in Ottawa. The Lauriers de la PME competition highlights the importance of Francophone businesses outside Quebec to the Canadian economy. It rewards companies that are well established and in good financial health, and whose reputation is synonymous with quality and service. RDÉE Canada wishes the best of luck to all the finalists!
