ABOUT ecoENERGY Retrofit
The ecoENERGY Retrofit intiative has been developed by the Office of Energy
Efficiency of Natural Resources Canada to help homeowners make retrofit choices
that improve the comfort and energy efficiency of their home. The steps are
simple: a detailed energy evaluation of the home by a qualified Energy Advisor,
a printed report showing where energy dollars are being spent and what the
homeowner can do to improve energy efficiency, including a an energy efficiency
rating label. The cost of the
evaluation service is $150 (for homes up to 3500 square feet), and the average grant amount is $1000, to a maximum
of $5000 (federal - however the Province of Nova Scotia has matching amounts for
a combined maximum of $6500).
