Air watts is a
combination of air flow and water lift created by the power unit. The
greater the air watts, the greater the cleaning ability of the system. This
is the most effective factor in determining the system's overall power.
How to choose a central vacuum system
1. Determine the square footage of the home. (Include
all areas and floors to be serviced by the central vacuum system.) Square
footage: ______________ sq. ft.
2. Based on the square footage, choose the power unit
for that size of home, according to the chart below:

3. Estimate the number of wall inlets needed by using
the ratio of 600 sq. ft. for each inlet. Divide the home square footage value by
600. Always round up for estimating purposes. For example, using a 2,800 sq. ft.
Home: 2,800 ÷ 600 = 4.6. Round up to 5 inlets. House square footage: ______÷ 600
= _____ rounded up to ____ inlets.
4. Based on the consumer’s interior décor, they can
select the wall inlet colour and style most suited to their needs.
5. It is strongly recommend including at least one
VacuSweep® for use in kitchen, pantry, laundry room or other locations that have
hard surface flooring.
6. To determine the amount of tubing and fittings
needed: typical installations require about 16 ft. of tubing for each wall inlet
and VacuSweep® used. Number of inlets: ______ x 16 =______ ft.
