STROBE LIGHT, REMOTE VISUAL
SIGNALING DEVISE FOR SMOKE ALARM - DUAL MODE SL177i - 120V AC Direct Wire
The Kidde SL177i, used in conjunction with a smoke, heat or carbon monoxide
alarm, provides a bright visual signal to warn of a smoke, heat or CO
hazard. The Kidde Strobe light benefits the hearing impaired, allowing a
visual alert of a danger. This unit also includes a tamper resist pin that
helps to deter thief and tampering.
The Kidde SL177i is a 120VAC wire in unit that provides a visual warning
when part of an interconnected system.

Interconnectable System
The Maximum protection only an InterConnectable System can offer: Every
floor. Every living space. Any place where a crisis could begin needs the
added security of an interconnectable warning system. Any unit that senses a
problem automatically triggers all units throughout the home immediately,
allowing extra time for escape.
Installation is simple: Unlike competitive products, the interconnectable
system requires no relay switches. No complex wiring. Just direct connect
and you're done.
Interconnects with all KIDDE, FYRENTICS, LIFESAVER and NIGHTHAWK smoke,
carbon monoxide and heat alarms, strobe lights and smoke and carbon monoxide
relay modules with interconnect capability. See enclosed users guide for a
listing by model number.

Recommended Placement for the Hearing Impaired (MUST BE INTERCONNECTED WITH
KIDDE, FYRNETICS OR LIFESAVER ALARMS)
Locate the first strobe in the bedroom where a person who is hearing
impaired sleeps. The unit must be interconnected to smoke alarms near the
bedroom. If there are no alarms near the bedroom, then an interconnected
smoke alarm must be installed in the bedroom.
Locate additional strobe lights in any rooms where a hearing impaired person
might be present and need to be notified of an alarm condition (i.e. living
room, kitchen, bathroom, basement)
Note: Light intensity gradually decreases as the viewing angle is increased.
Consult chart in owner's manual to determine best location for strobe light
installation
